Rolled corrugated metal pipe

Rolled corrugated metal pipe (RCMP) is a type of corrugated metal pipe that is used for the drainage of water and other liquids. It is made by rolling a sheet of metal into a wave-like shape, and then joining the edges of the sheet together to form a tube.

The corrugations, or waves, in the metal provide additional strength and rigidity to the pipe, making it more resistant to damage and collapse.

RCMP is commonly used in the construction of drainage systems for roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects. It is also used in the construction of culverts, which are structures that allow water to flow underneath roads or other obstacles. In addition to its use in drainage systems, RCMP is also used in a variety of other applications, including irrigation, water supply, and sewage systems.

One advantage of using RCMP is that it is relatively easy to install and maintain. It can be easily cut and joined together using a variety of methods, including welding and the use of specialized fittings. Additionally, RCMP is resistant to corrosion, which makes it an ideal choice for use in outdoor and underground applications.

Some features of RCMP include:

Flexibility: RCMP is made from a series of corrugated metal sheets that are rolled together, which allows it to bend and flex without breaking.

Durability: The corrugated design of RCMP provides added strength and rigidity, making it resistant to damage from soil movement and heavy loads.

Cost-effective: RCMP is typically less expensive than other types of drainage pipes, such as concrete or PVC, and is also relatively easy to install.

Variety of sizes: RCMP is available in a wide range of sizes, making it suitable for small drainage projects as well as large-scale infrastructure projects.

Long-lasting: The material used in rolled corrugated metal pipe is galvanized steel which is highly resistant to corrosion and can last for several decades with minimal maintenance.

Easy to maintain: The galvanized finish on the steel pipe makes it easy to clean and maintain.

Rolled corrugated metal pipe can be used as:

Rolled corrugated metal pipe (RCMP) is commonly used in a variety of drainage and infrastructure applications, such as:

Stormwater management: RCMP is often used in stormwater drainage systems to convey runoff and prevent flooding.

Culverts: RCMP is often used as culverts to allow water and debris to flow under roads and other infrastructure.

Flood control: RCMP can be used in flood control structures such as levees, dikes, and floodwalls to protect against rising water levels.

Erosion control: RCMP can be used in erosion control structures such as check dams and sediment ponds to slow the flow of water and prevent erosion.

Irrigation: RCMP can be used in irrigation systems to convey water from a source to crops or other plants.

Mining: RCMP can be used in mining operations to control and convey water and other materials.

Agriculture: RCMP can be used to control water and in drainage ditches in agricultural fields.

Industrial: RCMP can be used in industrial settings to control and convey liquids, such as chemicals or waste materials.

Landscaping: RCMP can be used in landscaping projects to direct water flow in gardens and parks.

Multiplate structures can be used for every class of service load provided that appropriate backfilling is performed.

Steel Materials

Steel used for corrugated steel pipe is produced in accordance with Chinese standard.

Minimum yield strength 235N/mm2 and 345N/mm2

Steel standard Q235 and Q345

Also can accordance with EN10025

Steel standard S355JR, S235JR, S315MC

And can adopt the other standard steel according to customers’ demand

Depth of cover

The minimum allowable depth of cover is the largest of:

For roads H=B/8+0.2(m) H=B/6(m) and not less than 0.6(m)

For railways H=B/4 and not less than 0.6(m)

There is a possibility to reduce depth of cover provided that suitable checking calculations will be made.
