Compression Resistance of the Metal Corrugated Pipe

Jul. 28, 2020

Compression resistance is an important parameter of metal corrugated pipe  performance.

Under the normal temperature, the maximum static pressure that the metal  corrugated pipe can undertake on the basic of without plastic deformation.  Compression resistance actually belongs to the category of the strength of the  metal corrugated pipe. The key to the calculation is stress analysis. Under the  same working condition, the stability of external pressure is better than the  internal pressure, so the maximum compression resistance of the external is  higher than internal.

If the internal cavity is with enough pressure when the both ends are fixed,  the peak of the corrugated pipe has the possibility to blast. Bursting pressure  is the parameter of maximum compression resistance. During the whole working  process, the working pressure is far less than the bursting pressure, otherwise  the metal corrugated pipe will be damaged.
